Hey Guys, you might remeber my thread a while ago where I reported finding teeth in my bell housing. Well I finally pulled the tranny and have a major update.

To recap, throtle got away from me and I launched at 5k. Heard a bang pop explode sound and the car wouldn't move in any gear expect a slight surge. So I popped out the tranny.

I have blown a 2 inch square hole in my bell housing when the teeth from every spider gear in my differential ripped off and went through my bell housing. The gears in the transmission are all intact which is a relief. So here is the damage tole, if you could help me out with some recomendations for parts that would be great.

I need a differential, I think that the 1g and 2g diffs are the same so if someone could confirm that, that would be great. Also, anyone got one?

Also, where can I get a bell housing? I was thinking about welding a patch in mine but that seams all sorts of wrong. Are the bell housings on regular 5 speeds the same as turbo 5 speeds? Can I swap one in? I am having a hard time finding any turbo bell housings. Anyone got one?

My clutch slave cylinder, I think its the slave cause its the one that pushed on the clutch fork, is fully extended and the push rod coming out of it is, out of it, completely. Is this ok? Can I push it back in and use it or when the rod comes out of it am I screwed? If so, anyone got one or know a good place to get one?

Furthermore, the clutch is fine, some marks from chunck of alluminum are on the presure plate but I think its okay. Anyhow the 2600 and 6 puck are calling my name. I drove a 4 puck with no problems so I think a 6 puck is reasonable.

The slave is just a cylinder with a cup shaped piston that pushes the bottom of the rod. The boot combined with pressure from the clutch fork is what keeps it anchored. You should have no problems, assuming nothing is damaged/leaking, just reinserting the rod and making sure the boot is snug around the skinny spot of the rod. You'll see exactly what I mean once you get down there. You might find it beneficial for your own learning to completely remove the boot from the slave so you can better understand the slave's operation.
Should take you 5min to crawl under the car and pull the boot, look around, and then put the boot and rod back together. :thumb:

Pictures would be great so everyone can see what happened in your situation.

Parts of this sound like a "I need [X] part. Does anyone have one?" thread. You should try posting a WTB ad in the classified section if that is the case.

Pictures Coming

And no it isn't a need X part thread. but if someone happened to have one they could let me know. Also, can't post in classifieds because of newbie status.
