SO if anyone lives or drives by exit 75 off 95, Dunn, NC area. Could you pm me. My car decided to die, and I hope its still there. LOL Its off the exit, sitting in the parking lot where the Texaco is and some random restaurant, and Exit 75 Sports Bar that's closed LOL. 90 TSi White, black f'ed up front fender, woman got mad at me kicked it, its been a horrible week, I live 800 miles away so its not like i can really check it my self.... thanks guys
:idontknow:

I had no choice, i didnt have enough cash on me to get it towed back to FL, I am buying a Jeep and gunna get a trailer and get it home, then get rid of this F'in car. Not much i can do when the transfer case decided to lock up and f'up the tranny, sounds like something is slappin around in there, it goes into gear and moves, but sounds like its eating itself.

I'd go look for you if I could. That really sucks though, let me know what you end up doing with it.

You just need to know if it is still there? I can ask some Fayetteville people if that is the case.

He said he's going to get rid of the thing, if he don't want it, I'll go up there right now and get it!

Hell I'll tow, trailor, or fix the damn thing right there on the side of the road. Anything to get my hands on a 90 tsi.

Im not just dumping that car off. I really just want to make sure the Popo didnt come and jack it yet. I put wayyy too much time to just give it away, it only really needs a transfer case and a tranny, I have a 90 Transfer case laying around somewhere and I am sure I can find a tranny. But someone just offered me a 1000 for it the way it sits. But yeah all i wanna know if its still there like thursday sometime.

Man that sucks that you had to leave the car. Unfortunatly it is not close enough for any of my friends to go take a look for you. May I ask why you decided to drive a dsm that far away from home?

I've driven both my DSM's up and down the east coast from Maine to Florida multiple times without any issues. It can be nightmare, but it's also a great car, you just need to know what you're doing and don't neglect the proper basic maintenance.

I've also taken my car on long drives without problems. All cars break down every once in a while.

Hell I drove my first DSM, 99 Gst spyder, from Fort Benning Georgia all the way to Lancaster, Ca. and all that happened was I got a flat in Arizona.

You guys are also talking about 2g's that are in the later part of production. A 90 has most likely seen better days and I dont care what one it is, if it has had mods done to it I would not trust it for long distance drives. That is just me though.

Well mine isn't really modded that heavily, Exhaust, stock turbo, little shit. It was the transfer case that decided to take a shit on me. I have driven this car all over the place, all over the east coast, I drove it to FL, from PA, Driven to SC and back, and I was just driving back. It would seriously happen to any car that you have. Shit happens shit breaks. that's life.

Transfer cases don't normally fail on stock DSM's unless they were run dry. I'm blaming this one on poor maintenance- you should've checked all of the necessary fluids before you left for a long trip.

I run the thickest synthetic gear oil possible in my transfer cases mixed 50/50 with Lucas Oil Stabilizer for this reason. There's nothing but two gears and some tapered roller bearings in there....the thicker oil has better shear protection and doesn't overheat / evaporate out the vent hole or leak out the tailshaft seal as much as a thinner oil would.

90's are kown for having shitty transfer cases. And I never checked the fluid in the case and that would of been my problem. I did the fluid in the transmission and rear before I moved south.
