Exhuast size for a FWD Turbo?

I was told by a mechanic that on my 95 FWD Turbo to use a 3" Downpipe with a 2.5" Catback. Before I put on my exhuast and put on a 14b turbo, I am trying to figure out the best way to go so I don't get any boost creep. Thansk for the help guys.
 
without having to do a lot of porting i would just get a 2.5 all the way back.

If you plan on ungrading in the near future, I would go with what the mechaic said. If not, I agree with jaredgsx. Too much flow through the exhaust can hurt performance with a small turbo like the t25.
 
If thats the case, I would go with the 3 inch catback. Its your call with the downpipe. I have a 3 inch catless apexi downpipe and have small boost spike issues with my 14b. 2.5 inch is will give you great flow with the 14b but if you plan on going bigger than that in the future, go with the 3 inch.
 
Yea hearing that from you I'm gonna go with 2.5" all the way. Also its gonna be catless. Without a cat and 2.5 all the way, will it be louder than SH*T?
 
Sorry to disappoint you but it not going to be as loud as you think. I hear ricer hondas with just mufflers driving by my house every night louder than my car. I suppose it depends on the type of exhaust you go with but my apexi just has a growl to it. Not quiet but not super LOUD either.
 
making catless gives it a little bit more rumble to it ;). I have always found it funny racing someone with a really loud exhaust with nothing to back it up. They rev, you rev, they think you dont have much, but all you can do is chuckle while they get a mouthful of asphalt
 
Yea i love racing like any honda (cept S2000 havent raced one of those yet) and del sols with like huge ass mufflers and wings and carbon fiber hoods LOL. Its awesome. And hopefully with these mods I can get my car down to 14.0. I would be satisfied with that.
