I have a 95 FWD Turbo Automatic Talon. I am at the stage to get my exhaust done. I do not know what size piping to get? I have been told that I would be fine with getting like a $75 downpipe off of ebay that is liek 2.5" and then getting 3" piping inbetween the muffler and the downpipe, which would eliminate the cat converter. What do you guys think?
. I did in the future want to upgrade to a 16g or a T28 and I know that I need to get my exhaust done early. I will prolly go with a 2.5 downpipe and then 3" piping to my muffler. When I do al that i was told to go ahead and have my o2 housing dumped while im doing the exhaust to decrease the spool up time.
Having an externally dumped o2 housing does not decrease spool up time. A properly ported turbo and other mods to improve flow will help the turbo spool up faster. I think a lot of people are misinformed on things such as lag, boost creep, dumped o2's and such. Read this to understand exactly how everything works:
