dude stop, your making a fool out of yourself, im trying to help you out ok????, im telling you that there is no way in hell your gonna run a t series turbo on your car thats not a t28 or a t25, you need to listen to us.

WAY TO BIG FOR DSM 240sx OR MR2 ok??????

Dude the t88 is even a big turbo for a supra for god sake.....

supra=3.0 litres dsm=2.0 litres

id you want to push those turbos your gonna need to displace your dsm to 3.0 litres, if you do that it will be possible, it will be expensive though.. ask a machine shop first.......

SO you are going to make a GSX comparable to the top secret supra with the 3sgte in it. So I guess you have some deep pockets if you are going to throw together a GSX with a t88 turbo and supporting mods.

im not say its going to be an over night projetc.......it going to take some time .....and im stroking the motor to 2.4l

Couple of guys run T78's but mainly in a FWD setup because of things I don't care mentioning right now.

You need nitrous.

You can't stroke our motors to 2.4. You can stroke them right to about 2.3, but that's the limit based on piston speeds. You can buy a 2.4l block, and not have to stroke anything. 9k is your redline with anything above a 2.0. You will need 10k to use this turbo for any benefit.

Exhaust size doesn't matter, as it won't be running one. If you want an exhaust on the car (Don't quite know why on this car, as it's clearly not going to be a street car) it will have to be 3.5-4".

You don't quite understand the subject of boost threshold and lag.

Sure these turbo's make a kick ass high speed turbo, as they don't have to worry about street-ability and/or lag. As long as it eventually spools, it will make decent power.

AFAIK you are wasting your time trying to fab this up to work, when you could get a bolt on setup, or a full out T4 that would work far better.

AFAIK no T-78 powered DSM/4g63 has made more power than any bolt on combo, so you are most likely going in the wrong f-ing direction.

If you truly understood anything about DSM's and Turbo's you wouldn't be asking us about exhaust size, or even arguing about your choices.

You will need a 100shot to spool this thing before 6k.

HTH :)

First off, before you can even buy a T88 you must be able to type in motherfu@king English. That doesn't mean using 14 periods to seperate every thought.

Secondly, you aren't going to run a T78/T88. You just aren't. Some people can, I know Aniel does, but you just can't and you won't. You probably don't even know where to buy one.

Someday when you have 50% of a clue you will look back on this thread and realize how wholly retarded and lame you are being.

Yes, I am a "hater", I hate disgustingly stupid people. I want to kill them.

hey batman first of all go f#ck your self.........secondly i dont give a F*ck
about what you think and finaly i just want some information on this set up im going to do.....a$$hole and i want to kill your stupid a$$

You're not going to do it. Talking about it and getting laughed at is as close to any setup as you are going to get until you grow a brain and actually fu@king use it.

I don't think I am alone in this evaluation.

man you know what f*ck you and this stupid ass forum, every other forum i went to people helped me out with USEFULL information then i came here trying to be nice and looking for some usefull info and you stupid a$$ motherf*ckers came with all that bullsh*t out of no were so f$ck this forum im never coming back here for information you people just suck:mad:

Right useful information whatever. In the country right now there might be a handful of DSMs running a T78 successfully. However on a 2 liter motor you are going to have something like a 1000-2000 rpm power band. It really doesn’t matter if you hare a motor that can rev to 10k. A DSM tranny will not want to shift that high plain and simple.

I specifically remember an orange 240 in Turbo a few months ago that had a T78. I remember as soon as I read the title I thought that wouldn’t work out to well. When I saw the dyno chart the car was making about 420hp with a 1500 rpm power band.

If you are looking for some useful info from people that have done it before contact Brent Rau. Although they will probably tell you the same thing that all of us are. That you are being stupid and you are going to have an undriveable car that you have a ton of dollars into. You think you will have the knowledge and ability to put a car like you proposing together yet you are on here asking us about exhaust sizing?

Judging by his grammar and creative use of the English language, we can safely assume that this "kid" hasn't even reached puberty yet.

So, with that said, I would just like to say THANK YOU for a good laugh. Either this is a member who's trying to get some attention with a new name, or a very uneducated individual who's trying to get some attention. Eitherway, it's a lame attempt.

And in the case that you are actually serious about using this sized turbo on a DSM, please do some more research. Just prove to me that you know how to read a compressor map, and how to properly size a turbo for your specific goals...then maybe we might help you out. Until then, you get all the negative responses you deserve.

Good day.

Ummm, unless you are going to spend upwords of 10 thousand dollars on a race-block you aren't going to have ANY FUN AT ALL because the CIVIC DX AUTO will be at the next light waiting for the red light again by the time you get out of first. Or if it is going to be a racecar, then I congradulate you because Shepard is ticking off mid 9 second timeslips on a T61 pretty much. With your T88 and your cookie cutter mod list:rolleyes: you are going to be spanking Buschur's ass also. Congrats and keep it :shhh: so that everyone will be surprised when you are on next months cover of Turbo Magazine.

I think it's possible, I mean with enough cash that is. A T88 turbo BB center is like 5g plus you'll need a strong ass mani to hold it. Anyways, people say it's too big for DSM, SR20DET, etc. Then why is there a Datsun 510 with a build SR20DET running a T88. Yes it's stroked to 2.2 but still has a T88. The freaking turbo is bigger then the head. I'll post some pics up laters on it. But it CAN be done. If he's dedicated to doing this, he's gonna just prove you all wrong. Sure he's gonna need the bottle but thats just another support mod for this turbo. Let him do what he pleases, it's his money and his car.

He has gave you proof that there is a DSM running a T78 and that FWD runs 9's. there are also Evos in Japan that run T series turbos and have been quite succesfull doing it. I read that there is a Evo 3 in Australia with a t78 running low low 10's.

Everyone here has made great points as to the T78/88 being placed on a small displacement engine. The fact of the matter is that every one of the cars utilizing this turbo are full race.

Second, Honda Killer claims he wants to use this turbo on the freeway for racing. Sure it is possible but obviously you have no idea of what your getting yourself into. The street is owned by the awd. The freeway is owned by the fwd. Good luck at racing those muscle cars because we all know you will be needing it.

Last, learn what your car is made for. Stop reading what top secret and apexi are doing to their cars. Unless your ready to dump that kind of money into your car then there is no need for these senseless dreams.

To answer your original question. A 3" or greater downpipe with turn-downs at the end.
