Hey guys i know this is already on the site but its all for GST/GSX and i wanna know about the GS, i already have a 2.5' exhaust, header(4-1) back, and i am getting a 3' cat-back, so i was wondering if i should stick with the 2.5' DP or go to a Megan Racing 3' DP? any help would be much appreciated

I will fully admit that i may be wrong here. but from what i was told 3" exhaust wouldnt work well on a gs. Something about the displacement isnt enough to hold back pressure on a pipe that large? is this correct? if its not im gonna look into getting a larger exhaust to get the demons out quicker LOLROFL

I'm sure you'll be fine with the 2.5". 3" might be overkill. Your money may be better spent elsewhere. All my old N/T cars never had anything larger than a 2.5".:talon:

i dont think you would even notice a diff going from 2.5 up to a 3... whats the reason you are going to a 3inch cat back

to be completely honest i bought this cat-back from a guy and i didnt know it was for a GST until i got it and foudn it was 3" but it will fit fine, and also i was getting tired of the cat-back i have on now which is a Holley which has a 5" tip, and last the new one comes out at an angle which i think looks sick on 2g Eclipses, but for mods nothing internal engine, jsu MSD Wires, AEM Intake, Headers, n Exhaust, thast about it for the engine, and im only 18 n havent had the car for a long time so i dont really have the money to spend on my engine to get it built up and im still on the effin warranty which wont allow me to boost it(or lower it:notgood:), so for engine mods im deff limited, and one last thing, would going to 3" damage anything in my engine?

3" won't net you any gains up top over the 2.5", but you may notice a loss of low end power as you are further reducing the effects of scavenging. It's really not a big difference, either way though.

You could install the 3" and see if you like it, if you do, keep it. If you don't, reinstall the 2.5". If it were me, I'd keep the 2.5" installed and have the 3" on hand for when you go turbo, or if you don't plan on going turbo you could sell the 3".

+2 on your probally going to lose alittle bit of power due to less back pressure. I'd keep that exhaust on there that you have. If you dont like how your exhaust sounds now, why not sell that 3 inch exhuast and buy a new muffler for the exhaust you have on now.

They make 3 inch downpipes for N/A cars? Last I checked N/A dont have down pipes.

I have never seen a 3" down pipe for a n/t. Well atleast i heard a couple people agreeing with what i have been told about the back pressure so i dont feel as bad LOL.

Yeah, but back-pressure is always bad, it is an unavoidable symptom of a system that scavenges well. :)

Yes I wouldnt go with anything higher then 2.5 especially since you have a 2.5 DP so its not increasing anything really, unfortunatlly you already bought the exhaust FORTUNATLLY it wont hurt you so go ahead put it on im sure it will sound nice LOL and you probably will use it later anyway if you turbo that bad boy so yeah i dont see any harm in throwing in a 3" cat
