I'm getting ready to Have a new exhaust run on my 1g N/T, My question is what size piping should i use 2",2.25",2.5"? Someone told me if i use anything bigger then 2" i would lose torque. I'm gonna use a high flow cat, and i want a deep throaty sound. Thanks for the help! :talon:

i have a 2g n/t and i used a 2.5" with 2.5" high-flo cat and it was an awesome jump in power, it was the first mod i did and i definitly felt a big difference.

i plan on going nitrous so thats why i chose 2.5" but i sure 2.25 would be fine depending on what you plan on doing in the future, but ill i know is that i have 2.5 and it works just fine :thumb:

also if you have the money i would consider getting a 4-2-1 header or even 4-1 becaus if your going all the way past the cat might as well finish up the job

i used the ssatuochrome header from ebay and it works great but looks kinda ### now because it changed color but i heard all chrome ones do that, if i had the chance again i wouldnt have got a chrome header

good luck and if you got any questions pm me

2.25" Is ideal. 2 is still fairly restrictive, 2.5" you will lose power (in refrencce to xypno dynos).

My setup is going to be...
2.25" Custom Piping
2.25" Magnaflow High Flow Cat
Remus Dual Tip Exhaust

SHould give a nice gain, nice look, and a friggin mean sound... none of that rice crap...

my engines teacher told me that 2.5 would cause a loss of power also. 2.25 is perfect for any n/t 4clyinder car. if you have a 6cyl than go to 2.5. I want to upgrade to 2.25 mandrel piping, but for now i have stock piping connected to a 2.5 n1 . I choose 2.5 for the muffler because it will lower back pressure and help breathing over the straw(stock muffler) it comes with.

Ive got 2.5 and its great. i dont remember losing any low end torque, plus i knew i was doind some kind of forced induction so i wanted it bigger. 2.5 is perfect cuz it will work for NA and turbo/nitrous.

hey hot sauce, is the ssautochrome header have a 2.25 inch outlet and downpipe or a 2.5 inch? im thinking about getting it and want to know.

thanks
