Exhaust restriction

Hey guys I just installed an SRS (ebay exhaust) it is full 3 inch except were the cat inlet it. I also have a 3 inch megan downpipe which also restricts to 2.5 for the cat. I am running no cat and the exhaust bolts up flawlessly. How beneficial would it be to cut out the 2.5 area and weld them together for full 3 inch?

Most people do not even need a 3in exhaust. You have no cars listed in your profile o I would say that you will not have much if any restrictions. If you think/feel it will be a real problem, you could cut off the 2.5 portion of the downpipe, and cut off the flange to the exhaust. You could get a section of 3in exhaust pipe and use band clamps made fore o.d to o.d.

Yah thats what I was thinking, not sure if I am just used to the sound but I would honestly like it to be louder....Even tho I make people's car alarms go off when i drive by. Just feel other peoples exhaust sound different.

There will be flow separation as the exhaust transitions from a 2.5" pipe, abruptly, to a 3" pipe. Luckily, this is not as bad for flow as going in the other direction and creating a stagnation region.
