Exhaust manifold leak....need help

Ok i had 2 exhaust leaks that sounded horrible. Whenever i would hit boost i would hear this high pitched sputtering or clicking noise coming form my turbo area. I thought it was my t25 giving out on me but i still hit full boost no problem. Once i took off my heat shield i saw the black carbon all over that place so i knew what was wrong. The first leak was coming from my egt probe. It wasn't tight enough so i fixed that. My other leak is near the left side of the manifold right where the gasket is. So here's my question. Will an exhasut leak make that loud clicking or sputtering noise at boost? But it stops after the car is fully warmed up? Also how do i replace the manifold gasket? I've replaced them on non-turbo cars but never a turbo car. I don't even know how to get to half the bolts.....

I was reading another thread , and he had said his ticked and flapped probably from the gasses pushing it around is the little space it has to move....also it might be stoping because all that expands when it getsa hotttttttt.....you will probably have to take the turbo off to get to those bolts but itsno big deal...i had mine off in and hour 2 days ago..look up turbo removal and follow the steps , after that the mani bolts should be a breeze

and a tip if your removing the turbo mani ect....do it when the motor is still kinda warm..the bolts will comeout easier...good luck

Your best bet is to just get a new exhaust manifold gasket, re-seal and tighten everything and everything should be fine. I had that horrendous rattling noise for awhile on my GST and it turned out to be a broken bolt. But everything's fine now. Good luck with your fix.

Funny you say that. I went to rteplace the gasket and found out the far upper left stud snapped by itself. I was finger tightening the bolt by hand when the stud snapped completely. I haven't replced it yet b/c i didn't have an extra stud laying around but so far it snot leaking. I have a new gasket and all the other bolts are tight as can be.

I have a 90 lazer 2.0w/turbo

My exhaust manifold has a leak on the top of it, and there is smoke comming from under it to, i dont know for sure if it is under the manifold though, i put some exhaust weld on there temporarily, but the bolts on the manifold feel like ther egoing to snap, ive been puttin rust remover, wd-40, all types of stuff on it onc ein a while, see if itll loosen up. i dont want to get screwed with cracked bolts in my manifold. and is it normal for the car to be puttin out some smoke since its been sitting?

that sounds weird. are the bolts rattling around? is the smoke coming from between the gasket and the manifold? u might want to take that to an exhaust shop...
