I got these new 4-1 headers and they are a slip fit. Where the headers slip on to the down pipe it leaks so I used some jb weld around it and it fixed the leak. Ive drivin about 100 miles like this and am wondering will it hold up?

No the exhaust gets a hundred degrees more then jb weld can handle plus the vibration will break it loose. But good quick fix.

Find a NAPA, and go ask for "Flow-EX" I want to say the part number is F2 or 2F It is a hot gasket sealer.

When the JB fails, pop it apart, and smear the Flow_EX over the slip joint and install

Then while you can still to the slip joint safely, If the car has to be blocked up, start it up and let it idle.
you may have to dab more flow ex to finish seal the joint, do this as it runs, but be very carfull

Flow-EX needs the heat to cure and harden, cost is about $6 a bottle

So pretty much I Should just get new headers with a flange fitting instead of using this slip fit crap LOL?

Pretty much. I'm just looking down the road when you have some work to do on the car and you have to disconnect that slip fit connection every time you need to do some extensive work on the car...and then have to deal with getting it to seal right again. It's going to get messy and it's just not practical IMO.

Oh and I think you meant to say you should just get a new header :p

Why get new header just have a shop weld on 3 bolt Flanges get a aluminium gasket and call it a day. Or get it welded. How often do you pull of the exhaust manifold?

Are they able to weld it while its in the car. the headers slipped on the DP perfect then the DP was like 5 in. away from the cat. So i bent the cat with a pry bar to meet up. I think the cat is pullin the DP back and thats why their is a leak.

Ya if it doesn't line up good it will make a gap. I don't know how mutch room is there to tell you yes or no on the leaving it there part. But a good exhaust shop will be able to get you fixed up for less then a new manifold.

Can you get a few pictures?

Yea, cold weld will never hold up..wouldnt be surprised if it leaks also.. a good exhaust shop shouldnt have a problem welding them in for a decent price. thats probably your best bet. anything exhaust related i get welded, hate fumes in my car LOL

Well I went to a guy and asked if he could weld and said he couldn't cause he needs a TIG welder. So he gave me a 2 1/2 in. round clamp I clamped it around the slip fit part and to my suprise no leaks. I was kinda shocked. I got one more question. While im drive and I hit about 4000 rpms I can hear something in the back start raddling really hard. I assume the exhaust some how?

Weirdest sentence ever... WTF

Perhaps. I've had a heat shield on the exhaust break and make this horrendous buzzing/rattling sound at very specific RPM's. Get under the car and look for loose/damaged parts.

Ya most likely a heat sheald if you have a titanium tip Thay can rattle as well. Glad it worked out but he could have used a MIG welder as well.
