1G Exhaust leak cause CEL?

I honestly can't put that much detail. I didn't have a CEL light, but I heard a slight rattle in my exhaust and I noticed a slightly loose bolt right before the catalytic converter. After I tightened it up I got a CEL light. I wouldn't think I should get it since I have OBD 1 and I haven't really got a chance to pull codes yet.

You're shooting in the dark without the code. I wouldn't jump to conclusions.

Hey guys,
Sorry for the late reply, but when I went to pull the codes I noticed the CEL light is gone. Weird. I have also been driving it this week and no more CEL light. Well I guess its solved for now, but thanks everyone who replied to me!

I bet he had "pending" codes. I keep a code reader in my DD because I hate seeing my CEL for a stupid recirculating exhaust code on my Saturn.
