exhaust break in period?

i just put a n1 downpipe and exhaust and i think it should be louder does it take time for exhausts to break in and get louder or somthing or is the way it is now the way its gonna be forever?
 
i was thinking the same when i installed my thermal i think its way to quit but its starting to grow on me

5K miles with no boost.
 
If what you mean is will the exhaust sound change as it ages, then yes, you are correct. Most aftermarket exhausts, with time, become louder....and louder.....and louder (at least in my experience). ;)
 
Think about it. All the exhaust does is carry hot exhaust gasses out away from your turbo. There isn't any break in for an exhaust.
