i just replaced my clutch master cylinder because there was alot of play in my clutch pedal and it was leaking out of the rear boot (around the push rod) and running down into the foot well. so i replaced that, now theres nor more leak but still some play. i'd say my foot moves probably about 1.5 or 2 inches before i feel something. i had my friend help me bleed the system and made sure not to pull any air back into the system.

i was wondering if the slave cylinder could be bad also because there looks to be a very small leak coming out of the boot on the slave cylinder also. what usually goes bad in the slave cylinder? i was reading yesterday on here and oldman said something about a fork being bent? maybe that could be the culprit. any feed back would be great.

thank in advance.

Try bleeding it. Have someone push the clutch in and hold it, the loosen the bleeder valve and retighten. It can take quite a few tries before it actually gets all the air out from changing the master cylinder. Try it a few more times and see if it helps.

If it's greasy when you pull back the slave boot, replace it. It's probably losing fluid and pressure when compressed and sucking in air when retracting.
