Guys,

I got a few questions on a EVO III 16G to replace my blown T-25/

I'm going to order a new EVOIII 16G that's been ported and has the 34mm flapper mod.
I'm going to install this on my 2G stock exhaust manifold. Now, do I need to port my stock exhaust manifold? What would happen if I didn't? What size gasket do I need - 6 cm or 7 cm? Can I order those from dealer? or are they special?
Regarding the O2 housing, I'm going to use my stock 2G as well. I understand it needs to be ported to make it fit up the 16G. What gasket do I use there? A stock 2G gasket or something else. How much porting is required?
I have a Big Greddy FMIC 24R, will the J-pipe connect right up to my lower IC pipe, or do I need another connection to make them mate?
Also, how much trimming is required? What are the downfalls of swapping the fans?
The SS oil lines that come in most kits - do they replace the stock oil line from the oil filter to the turbo? or do they connect somewhere else (like the head?).

Thanks for your time

You don't have to port the stock exhaust manifold, You only sacrifice optimum exhaust flow from the piece. If your pressed for time, do it later.
If the turbo is ported, get the 7cm gasket. Just order it from the same place you get the turbo/make it easier.
The stock O2 housing does not have to be ported to fit. Again your only sacrificing optimum flow.
Oil feed lines, that come with a kit should feed from the stock 2G location. Contact the place where you buy it from and double check.

Sorry, but I don't have answers about your fan swap, ported O2 housing, FMIC, and J-pipe questions.

I installed the EVOIII turbo on my 97 gsx. If you are going to get the ported exhaust housing, you should port your 2g manifold. I did mine with an electric die grinder. It is super easy and took me 30 minutes. I also use the stock 2g O2 housing. It bolts right up. I also did the porting on this which took a good bit longer since I removed the step and cut away the divider for more wastegate flow. Check my other threads as I also made some porting mods to prevent boost creep and wrote about them. I am using my stock fans and did not have to modify them at all for the j-pipe to fit.

In all, the install was pretty straightforward. :thumb:

Also ... get the 7cm gasket for the manifold - turbo. You can use the stock O2 housing - turbo gasket. If you port the O2 outlet, you will need a larger O2 - downpipe gasket.

The SS oil line replaces the stock one and goes directly from the oil filter to the turbo via a special fitting that should come with the line or kit.

I sure hope your getting the turbo @ ExtremePSI...only $620 for a ported evoIII with the flapper mod! Sorry for the advertisement...just looked like everyone else covered everything pretty well...So you're not getting an install kit? Just the individual parts? Sounds much cheaper.
