im piecing together a full evo3 setup.i have the mani and o2 housing.the car needs new exhaust.so i figured i would just get my full 3" TB and be good to go come swap time.well the more i read, the evo3 o2 housing wont fit.from what i have read anyway.people say to just open the hole to fit but how does that help the angle being different?at this point im considering selling the o2,getting a 3" tubular or just dropping the evoIII 16g all together and going with a s16g to minimize tuning efforts.300 whp would make me more than happy.that way come swap time its just that much easier.am i wrong??
i really want to put a hrut on a couple of the local srt4 and a cetain sti

The holes that they're talking about widening are the bolt holes in the stock dp. It allows the studs in the Evo housing to still go through the DP flange. As for the angle, you might just have to tweak the hell out of it. Or take the DP to an exhaust shop and have them put a small bend in it.

will the evo3 o2 bolt up to say a sm16g w/o issues? i guess i could run the dejon dp made for it and then just get the rest of the system somewere else.

What kind of car do you drive? If it's a FWD, you can get away with filing the holes wider and stressing the DP a bit to make it work. If you have an AWD, you're most likely going to need a couple cuts and welds in the upper portion before the flex section to allow the pipe to clear the transfer case. There's pretty much no way around that. It seems that a lot of the pipes that are "made" for the EvoIII O2 housing still need a little help to fit right, so make sure you do a little research on that as well before you proceed.

Yes

This is what I did. Actually I didn't even have to file the holes for the BR DP. But it definitely takes a little muscle to get it to align properly and makes getting a good seal a little more difficult. It clearly puts a fair amount of stress on the flex section however mine has held up for a few years. Having said that I have my larger RRE "EVO style" DP ready to go on as soon as I can afford the 3" catback to go with it.:D
