I was looking at prices on a evoiii big 16g and forcedperformance has one for 569$. Isnt that ridiculous cheap or is it just me?

I have a 6bolt block. Im going to purchase the Evo3 intake mani, and evo3 o2 housing as well..

Is it correct i can purchase this turbo, intake mani, and o2 housing, and it will directly bolt to my 6bolt?

i'm trying to follow what you mean is the EVO3 EXHAUST mani right. because the intake manifold isn't bolting on to the turbo the IC piping is.

No, I seen that price give or take $20 dollars at plenty of vendors.

Yes the EVO3 turbo, EVO3 exhaust mani, and EVO3 02 housing will bolt up together.

Just to add some advice I would skip out on the EVO3 exhaust mani, and go with SBR cast mani same price and much bigger unported then a ported EVO3 exhaust mani. Also, you can get it SBR's cast mani ported so it can be even bigger. Just remember with the EVO3 the holes to DP come sideways if you understand what I mean.

make sure that pricing comes w/ a full port job and a 34mm WG flapper too. trust me, you'll need it. what happened to your 2G turbo manifold?

I was thinking bout completly upgrading thats why i was asking. Its like total 900 dollars for exhaust mani o2 and evo3 big 16g.

I was just worried i needed more mods than i have. I have f190 fuel pump 660 injectors intake exhaust and boost controller. So i was pretty sure i had the supporting mods.

And i was also questioning whether there was a instalation kit for it cuz i know 7bolt motors need some kind of bolt on kit for the turbos.

But you guys pretty much answered my questions. Im going to go with the new 6bolt motor, and ill go evo3 big 16g with evo3 exhaust mani and evo3 o2 housing.

One More thing.

Would it make more sense to get a kit like this ?
Quantity in Basket: none

The EVO III Big 16G features a slightly larger compressor wheel than the previous Big 16G. It also uses an improved turbine housing design, which offers better boost control, direct fitment with the EVO3 O2 housing, and weighs in 2.75 lbs lighter than the old style 7cm housings.

The EVO III 16G Package #3 includes a ported EVO III Big 16g turbo, ported EVO III O2 Housing, and complete gasket set.

The Complete Gasket set includes a 7cm copper turbine housing inlet gasket, 4 - 14mm copper crush washers for the water connections, 2 - 12mm copper crush washers for the oil inlet on the turbocharger, 2 - 10mm copper crush washers for the oil connection at the cylinder head, 2 paper oil drian gaskets for your oil drain tube between the turbo and the oil pan, EVO3 O2 housing inlet gasket, and EVO3 O2 housing DP gasket

Second Generation DSM will require the use of a J-pipe and SS oil line to complete the installation.

Or just buy all 3 seperat because the kit doesnt offer the evo3 exhaust mani.

If you were me which would u do?

if i was you, i'd get the turbo alone, a 2G exhaust man., the j-pipe w/ the two bolts, a coupler, and two clamps. cheapest way. no need for the EVO ex. man. unless you have a bigger downpipe than you should get the EVO o2 housing. but if you don't have a bigger DP than the stock o2 housing is fine for now.....BTW it does fit.

The EVO3 o2 housing will not be a direct bolt on to the stock downpipe. The flange on the o2 housing is at a different angle then the angle of the downpipe flange. This is not first hand experience, however when I was looking for a o2 housing for my 1G that is exactly why I decided not to purchase the EVO3 o2. Anybody with a little welding experience should have no problem cutting off the flange from the downpipe and re-welding it at the correct angle. Another good option would be a ported 2g factory Mitsubishi o2 housing otherwise a tubular housing.

I hope this helps with your final decision

From my experience; that price is pretty average and you could see some porting done for that price. Getting the larger waste gate flapper may not always be needed. Running a larger waste gate can help or hurt. I'm running a RRE down pipe which is 2.5 through till the flex and run 20psi all day long, with out creep. I use to run a full 3" and had creep. I'm running a 2g exhuast mani as well as a EVOIII o2 housing. You "can" run a stock downpipe unmodified. I say this because at the time I really didn't catch it, with the DP tightened down, it put the pipe tightly on my transfer case bolt. You can fix this by pie cutting the down pipe, bending it over to angle it and welding it back up or cutting the flange, grinding the welds all out and re welding the flange at the proper angle. (pie cut was much easier to do imo) Or, RRE's down pipe has an option of fitting the EVO o2 housing. They offer a DP made with the EVO's o2 housing angle in mind. Be sure to run all new gaskets and I choose to buy new bolts for everything just for piece of mind knowning everything is new.

The RRE downpipe comes with gaskets, and yes, you'll need an install kit to install the 16g on your 2g.
Each kit is slightly different, and they range from $100 (ebay, which for the most part I'd not trust with this particular item) to $150 (SBR and ExtrmePSI).
You can work out your own install kit for much lower price (v2ner mentioned the J-pipe component), so its up to you.

Now im confused.. Why would I need an install kit, the turbo is bolting up to a 6bolt.

6 bolt motor in a 95 body. The body is different.
Things are ran differently. There's TON's of more room in a 2G engine bay. At least it's alot easier to not bust your knuckels when working on a 2g 6 bolt.
Anyway. If you're running the super crappy 2g side mount then you'll need an install kit. If you're running the 1g you should be okay.

Im running the shitty side mount. So because the body is different i need an install kit. The 1g bay is much smaller so it doesnt require it? What kind of things does the kit come with? I would think it would directly bolt on to the 6bolt..

Shitty sidemount on a 2g I believe has a different size inlet that the 1g smic. Making the stock 1g piping too small. I know that when I installed my 18G on my 7 bolt, which shouldn't make that much of a different. I could not use the stock 1g LICP because it wouldn't fit my smic. Your best bet is to make one using a combo of 1g and 2g LICP pieces. It'll run you about 7 bucks in adapters. (I used about 3 inch pieces of exhaust adapters.)

Here is what is recommended. It's not what you have to do. Unless otherwise stated.

Get a SS oil feed line.
NEED: A stock 1g oil return line.
NEED: Get ready to tweak the coolant lines for the turbo.
NEED: Some type of different LICP. Or tweak the existing one.
J pipe
NEED: new crush washers

oh yea, once you put the j-pipe on, you'll need to cut a piece of plastic out of the radiator fan assembly. not on the fan itself though. it should be fairly simple. i've put one of these on a sixbolt before.

I didnt know there was so much extras i needed.

I have supporting mods and i was going to get the 2g conversion kit for the turbo, and i thought id be good to go...

Damn.... Im not doing the work myself though, you guys are giving me instructions to do all of this...

My dad is a psychologist and has a client that works on engines.. Hes going to be putting all of this in. Hes removing my stock 6bolt that has a nice crack in it, and placing a new stock 6bolt in the bay, then adding back all my mods to the block then adding the evo3 16g to it. Hes not a performance specialist but he said itll be no problem for him to do...

Im assuming when he encounters these minor additions hell know what to do..

Im not up to par motor swaps, and i dont have the money to afford to f u k anything up...

So its in his hands.
