one of my friends has an evo VIII MR and he is looking at replacing the turbo and i was wondering if anyone knows if it will fit a 2g GST. i know the MAF would have to be moved to the other side or go with a blow through setup and the downpipe might have to be custom made, but other than that it should fit, right?? same engine but the compressor faces the other way. i might also try to get the manifold too. also would the FPR from his car fit mine?

In my opinion it would be too much of a hassle to go through with all kinds of mods working around that turbo. You could just pick up an evo3 16g and an install kit and call it a day instead of worrying about routing the exhaust, intake, mas, intercooler piping, etc...

The flange bolt patterns on the Evo VIII turbo and the DSM turbo are different. Here's what the flange for the Evo turbo looks like:

It's really not worth the hassle, as the above poster mentioned. Your downpipe would exit right in front of your transmission and the intake would be near the belts.
