Evo III motor to 2G tranny?

I'm about to swap my motor with a Evo III motor, but it's a 7-bolt, and my GSX is a 6-bolt. I've heard that the Evo III motor directly bolts onto the Eclipse, but my friend talked to his Automotive Technology teacher about the swap. He said that the Evo III motor MIGHT not bolt onto my stock tranny. If that's the case, I'm not going to swap the motor because I just spend $2,100 to rebuild the tranny. So the main question is...

Will the Evo III motor bolt onto my stock tranny?
