Evo 7?

I do for a fact that it is nearly impossible to swap an Evo IV or later motor and or turbo into a DSM of any kind. This is due to the engine facing the opposite way. The timing belt is on the pass. side of the car. The reason that Mitsubishi did this is because the trans needed to face the other side of the car to give the Evos more ballance. That also means the turbo faces the other direction. I did say that it is NEARLY impossible meaning that with enough money just about anything can be done. Someone attempting this would need to redo the entire car just to get it to work. I do know that it is possible to do a later Mitsubishi Mirage/Evo conversion though. TAD Motorsports has done a few including the 9 sec. AMS Evo 2:dsm:

Actually the 9 Second EVO II was built by Adam when he worked for AMS, his girlfriend's car on the other hand which went 11's at the shootout was done at TAD.

slow99x has it exactly right, the 4g63 in evo 5 through evo 8 models faces (iand i believe spin as well) the opposite direction
you can theoreticly make an evo 7 engine bolt up in a 2g with soem custom mounts and such, then you will notice that when u bolt the trans up the output shaft on the transfer case is pointing out the front bumper and forward gears move the car in reverse

secondly, you have a 1g, an evo 7 is a 7 bolt 4g63 and has a completly different mount design, which would be backwards anyway because its an evo 7. this basicaly means to put any evo engine in a gvr4 you would need to saw off all your mounts and custom fab extensions onto your frams to creat mounts where they need to be for that engine

its such a waste of time because you would need to buy an evo 7 driveline and custom fabricate so many custom mounts and parts that you could have just swapped in a magnus 4g64 for a lot less money and time, and got a hell of alot more performance out of it.
