I was wondering if it was possable to swap a evo engine into a 2G Eclipse........have not seen a thread on this and because I have seen some totalled Evo's around with rear end collision and no harm done to engine.wondering if I could throw one in my car.

Tell me what you guys think!

yes its possible, only evo 1,2,3. The rest after are backwards if you search you will find alot on it. already did it in a 1st gen.

Well you could do it I guess but it will require alot of custom fab mounts. If you have not noticed the Evo engine is on the pass side of the car with tranny on the drivers side. I guess you could just use the engine and trans out of the Evo but again its going to be alot of custom fab to make it work.

Unless you are just really good at doing fab work I think that it would be more time and effort then its worth. The money it would take for such a venture would likely be about half of what it would take for you to buy an Evo.

huh..?! the evo 1, 2 and 3 are a drop in to the first gen, should be same as second gen

I think the original poster was thinkin of an EVO 8 because he said he has seen EVOs all over all crashed up when there arent any before the evo 8 in the U.S.

So you should re name the thread "EVO 8 4g63 Swap into a 2g."

Answer is no. Unless someone can do some very custom custom work but in the end its not worth it.
