If you had the option to go with an Evo 3 turbo or Evo 8 turbo which would you go for and why?, also does anyone know of a manifold that goes along with the evo 8 turbo to bolt up to the eclipse 2G?

The compressor housing on the EVO 8 is the opposite of what the 2g uses, air intake is on drivers side on an EVO 8. EVO 3 is the last model with the same configuration as our "DSMs". Its not really worth your time making it work IMO.

Well theyre both 16g's soo, I would do a little more research and findout all the specs (CFM rating etc), and if the evo8 turbo would be worth the extra work of making it compatible........haha disregard

The evo 8 uses a twin scroll design and if you placed it beside a evo 3 16g they turn in oppsosite directions to each other so unless you are willing to spend a ton of money on a custom header and modifiying your radiator and alternator and god knows what else it is not worth it. Just my .02 Travis

P.S. I a have taken an evo 8 turbo and stuck it on a dsm motor in a car and the mods to make it fit werent worth it( for me).

Not worth it. The cost you would pay to custom do the work to make the evo 8 16g work you could just buy a td06h 20g. The way I look at something is how much cash will it take, and how much power will it make, and compare the 2. Any gain's from the evo 8 to the evo 3, will be minimal at best, and not worth it IMO...but would be a cool one of kinda thing.

PS: Im not trying to jack this thread but what about boosting a 420a with an evo 8 16g since the motor's are facing the same way.

Thanks for the replies, I didnt know I would have to go through all that procedure just to make it work, I guess i'll stick with the Evo 3 turbo.

Agreed, too much effort and money to get the evo viii to work, when the evo iii is a direct bolt on.
