Ever have an probs with 99 AWD?

I searched high and low so if this a repeat thread I am sorry, I guess that is why I am posting in the Newbie thread.

Basically, I love DSMs as most of us due and although I have put a lot of time and money into my beautiful NT 95 GS AUTO I have come to the point where I know I need to move on.

As I said before, I love DSMs and can't walk away so if you've got an AWD 97-99 please tell me, how do they hold up? I am not talking about everyday maintance with clutch, etc, etc... I am talking AWDs specifically. How do they stand the test of time? If I go for it and buy a 99 AWD, I want to know that if I shop around and find the best one I can that it will last for awhile...

only problem I've had with my awd is the xcase went out but its under a recall so its free for a new one.

Just do a search of the site youll find that there are many, many 300+ horsepower daily drivers that are awd. GSXs are great machines but it all depends on how you treat the car and how the previous owners treated it.

You leave it stock and drive it nice, shouldn't have to do any high maintince, just ordinary oil change, etc. Once you start modding and increasin boost, etc., things will start to break, pop off, and your DSM will need a lot of lovin .

The 99 AWDs are an excellent choice. Good Luck!

I haven't heard anyone mention tranny problems so I take that as a good thing. Of course it depends on how it has and will be treated, but anyone have any major problems with the transmission of the 99 AWDs?

if you dont plan on adding a lot of after market parts, your tranny should not be a problem. But if you start adding a lot of parts to make more horses and more boost you will probly go through a couple trannys like most of us have. Good luck man.

Yeah, i'm around the 600HP mark and I am need of soon replacing mine. The 2g tranny's are a nice tranny. If I could upgrade one thing on the tranny's on all DSMs, it would definelty have to be those damn synchro's.
