ETS Race IC Mounting Question

I got just this core, not the whole kit. I'm having trouble mounting the intercooler. It hits the "hood latch support bar" as I'm calling it. Do you guys usually cut this out?

Mine is cut out but I bought the car like that. Im sure i would hav removed it anyways. Its not a big deal to remove it as long as you have hoop pins. If not then you either need to get and install hood pins or figure out a way to install fmic while keeping that piece there. Goodluck

I unbolted the stamped factory piece and replaced it with a bracket made of some flat bar to get the clearance I needed. It's a pretty simple fix.

I ended up cutting that support in half (thickness wise) and then welded a 1/4" plate to the back of it for rigidity.
