erg bock off, reason ?

I did search on it and i can simple find out how to do it but my question is WHY do it ? what does it do/help ?

Well to very simply describe it the EGR valve will dilute the fuel mixture at about 35mph crusing speeds (depends maybe I am wrong). It does this with exhaust gases to help reduce combustion chamber temperatures and increase fuel ecomony. It has to do with emissions but in the process it will gunk up your intake. A lot of people just remove it simply to clean up the engine bay. Removing the EGR valve will get rid of a lot of vacuum hoses. Anybody care to add to this?

It does basically what he said but it doesnt know speed it works off of vacuum. It aslo intoduces HOT exhaust gases to help burn them again and at a higher temp. If any watches a temp gauge in a new car they run hotter than most would like. Most of them run around at about 210 or so, they do this because it is better for emmisions. If you had an EGT you might notice that it goes down after you block or delete the EGR.
