Alarm goes off for no reason!!

hey does anyone know what would cause my alarm to fire off approximately 30 seconds to 1 minute after turning off my car after a 10 minute+ drive. This alarm is pissing me off and was installed by sum arseholes who i've had trouble with before so i dunno if they rigged it to piss me off

if its a factory alarm, they go off for no reason. It has happen to me, i dunno anyone who can explain how to turn it off.

same problem here! it seems my car does it if you just look at wrong. But seriously, sometimes after cutting the alarm on it just goes wild aftr 20 seconds. I've read that it is due to a mis-aligned hood. go figure!

misaligned hood?? how the hell do u fix it. its not stock its a prestige alarm.. i want to know to see if its that these bastards that installed it figured out a clever trick to play on me or the alarm is out of wack, cuz im planning on getting one of those good ones that tell u what window is broken into, etc.

Pull the ground off the alarm...that will fix it

my friends alarm goes off exaclty 1 min after he shuts the car off and locks it. It stays on for about 30 seconds then goes off. He found out it was supposed to do that, kind of to tell people. "HEY!!! ive got an alarm". Thats why his did it dont know if its the same for you to.

fvck. my neighbors would kill me if i had that "HEY!!! ive got an alarm" alarm.

i had a similar problem on my old integra [ stupid alarm would go off 30 seconds after i drove off]. turned out it was in "carjack" mode or something.

check the brain for switches, loose wires, and [the antenna wire was also loose] play with them. checking the inst. manual couldn't hurt either [ in case you haven't.]

i never bothered to fix it though. just sold the damn car and got this

YEa i had one of the "Do it yourself" Walmart alarms that caused alot of shorts and blew like 6 fuses. I just got pissed and ripped it out, than ran all my own wiring.
