ECMlink EPROM ECU Setup

Ok, getting DSMLink for tuning/logging and all that fun stuff..now what do I need to do to the 95 EPROM ECU I have?

Do I need to send it in to anyone to socket? Can I do it myself? I have socketed boards before but am reading and seeing that the 2G board is a little tricky and tender therefore I'd rather send it in to get whatever work done to it that it needs to.

Send it somewhere. 2g boards are very tricky. I had a tv repair shop do it and they screwed mine up i think John at DSMCHIPS said 12 leads broken worst he has ever seen. But the thing with the 2g if i remember right they are attached to leads on the top and bottom of the board or somthing like that.

DSMLink FAQ

Your options are to order Package1 or Package2.

Package1 = Just DSMLink Eprom = You get the Eprom chip with the DSMLink code on it and the cable (I'm pretty sure you get the cable). This assumes you're going to have the socket service done for you or do it yourself.

Package2= DSMLink with socket service = You send your ECU to DSMLink. They take care of everything and send you back everything you need.

Both packages include access to the DSMLink forum.

Are you getting DSMLink directly from them, from another vendor, or a pirated copy?

I was going to buy it through sbr since I get dealer pricing through them but if sending it to DSMLink directly is better I'll just do that.

You can contact Tom or Dave at DSMLink and if Dave doesn't have the time (as they're pretty busy now on V3) they will recommend someone than can who has experience on par with their own for doing this type of work. There is also at least one person on this forum who has the skills to accomplish this task. I'm not sure if I can throw it up in this thread, but if you need his name shoot me a PM, I'll give it to you and then you can contact him directly.
