epoxy instead of welding aluminum ung to aluminum pipe

can i use epoxy instead of welding a aluminum bung to aluminum pipe?
i need to finish my sd setup and getting it welded will cost me $75-$100 too much for just the bung. can epoxy handle it? would it work?

you dont have to use the iat right away. you can set up link to be fixed and will base the iat off of coolant temp and you wont really notice anything.

I didn't use a bong on Mine I just drilled and tapped the aluminum intercooler piping for the iat

Like most of us, you or your buddy's have a 20 $ torch laying around, the rods are cheap, i bought mine at Home Depot, even though Im an avid lover of Harbor Freight.
Give it a try, there are plenty of videos on YouTube on how to DIY weld with aluminum .

Note, before any "Debi downers" rain on my option, just find him a better alternative.

Those braising rods are alot harder to do then most people think. you have to pre heat the surface . you get it too hot and the whole pipe will get a hole punched in it instantly. I do alot of alum welding and braising. Trust me when i say this. If someone will charge more than 20 bux something is wrong.

alum melts at roughly 1200 degrees. those sticks melt at 740.

You have to heat the base to 740 or higher .... THEN put the sticj on it and let it melt. make sure you spray down some acid on the alum to kill the oxidization and then hit it with a stainless steel brush. wash it well and hit it with a clean stainless steel brush again before welding or brazing.

Any shop can do it for about 1.50 in 4013 alum stick rod. and 5 min.

lookup a school near you they may do it for free.

DONT GET ME WRONG MIG is the way to go but I meant you can even use a cheap stick welder and stick to do the job.

Well that's with anything, but the op, was looking for alternatives, if I tell him to suck it up and pay for a pro. He wont get an answer he is looking for. even though that is what I would recommend most.
