Engine wont start

Alright, i just got done doing the headgasket job and timing belt. The engine turns but wont start, is it my timing or what could it be. Spark plugs and wires are fine. All belts move when its turning over, its just not catching. I think its the timing but what do you guys think and what should i do?

Could be a timing issue. I would double check the timing before you go any further. Dont want to have to pull that head off again to replace some bent valves. Check the timing and let us know what you find.....we can go from there.

the timing seems to be all lined up, th only thing i can think of is, the pistons are in the wrong position, like a rotation off or something. is that a possibility?
is there any way to tell if i bent any valves, how much are valves?

when doing the timing belt the #1 piston must be at TDC, or timing will be off. I suggest redoing the timing, and so what it brings. Valves arent to bad, just pain to replace

i have the timing belt off now, is there anyway to tell where tdc is with the tb off?

pull the spark plug in the #1 cylinder........look through the hole.....when you see the #1 piston at TDC, then your good. Be sure to check the marks on the crank sprocket to make sure it is perfectly at TDC and so that you know it is on the compresson stroke. Good luck

where should hte other pistons be when 1 is at tdc, also i dont see any markings on my , i see the one that it should line up with, do i line it up with the sprocket?

cyilinder # 1....TDC
cylinder # 2......BDC
cylinder # 3....BDC
cylinder # 4....TDC

1 and 4 will be up, 2 ands 3 will be down. There will be a mark on the crankshaft sprocket, line it up with the mark on the frontcase.

Look at figure 12 on the page, you will see where the timing marks have to line up
