Cranks but won't quite get there. Has a new ecu. Has an old gas tank that had no gas in it so i put about a gallon of 91 in it. i can see smoke come out of the muffler when cranking. My boost raises to around 4 when cranking. I can smell old gas smell when i crank it(face next to the motor). All fuses are okay, all connections connected, but my thermo sensor blade broke so i just wrapped the wire on it(hope that will work). I pulled the plugs(i have new wires) and they were black so i cleaned them up with a wire brush and regapped them. And still no start. Manifold has a crack in it and it smokes a little as well. Besides all the what can i check? how can i check for fuel pressure easily? And anything you guys can think of that will help? I planned on getting more gas for it just in case its not enough, i also planned on maybe replacing the plugs completely. Thanks for any help

Buy some NGK plugs they are only like 3 bucks a piece you really need to do a compression check tho.Run over all your vacuum lines but let us know what your compression is.

did you say the coolant sesor plug has the wire wrapped around the blade? that coul be your problems if the coolant temp sensor isnt reading then the car wont start. I would fix that plug and wire problem. first its cheaper and the more likely cause if its the coolant temp sensor thats broke.

Well i'm off to do a comp test. Wish me luck. And i have another coolant sensor i can throw in if i can get it out of the coolant housing off the other engine. If the comp test is any good then i will change them out asap.

Well ready for the results?
Here they are 0,0,0,0.
So what do you guys think? Blown head gasket? I sure do hope so. I don't want it to be a warped head. But it ran before all this so i'm confused..

The timing on the balancer is about half a cm past the IT on the belt cover. Thats with the cams line up perfectly. I just checked those and pulled my valve cover and everything seems to be good from what i can see. Nothing like my other engine with bent valves.

If its a blown head gasket then you obviously will need to remove the head to replace it and you should still have the head decked for flatness because the aluminum is subject to warp just from taking them off and that will ensure a good fit when its reassembled.
