ok for my mods, since i haven't updated my profile yet... (sorry) i just rebuilt a 6 bolt block, had it bored out .030 (.75 pistons), had my crank polished, .25 main bearings, .5 rod bearings, rebuilt head with all goodies including 3g revised lifters, evo 3 big 16g, ported o2 housing with external dump, 3" custom turbo back exhaust with Greddy muffler.
ok now to my story....
Just rebuilt the motor, got it on the road last night, did a few pulls to seat my rings, the motor runs, idles, and drives fine, its just this vibration that annoying the F*ck out of me.
so i know what almost everyone is going to tell me is that my oil pump is out of phase... which it could be the culprit but how do i tell exactly because i know that when you have the balance shafts you either A) stick the screw driver in the side of the block, or B) rotate it till it falls to the left, well without the balance shaft there is no real defined "tension" on the sprocket so it falls both ways. meaning if i have it one way it will fall to the left, if i rotate it 180* it will still fall to the left, so i guess my question is how do i check the oil pump sprocket and make sure it is in phase.... just set the timing marks where they line up, take off the belt, and rotate the sprocket 180* from where its line up now?? thats my only idea i guess if anyone else has any ideas let me hear them please.
