Engine turn but won't start. Need HELP!!

I just dropped a new engine in 98 GSX that my partners and I rebuilt. I have 1g head, cams, cam gears, pistons, rods, etc..... My car won't start for anything but the engine rotates like and sounds like it want to start but it just won't.

1. I am getting fuel
2. new battery and starter
3. I am getting spark
4. CAS is wired correctly
5. Timing is on point did it over 5 times

What could be the reason and I know it's probably billion reasons but I will go through each one.

Is your ecu plugged in? Try checking the coolant temp sensor if this sensor is bad the car will be very hard to start. Here is a link of things to check.

check all fuses , connectors and the alternator

I will check those things out and the fuses are good, went through and reconnected everything, and alternator is new. Thanks if anyone comes anymore things to check please let me know..b

Check spark at the PLUGS. 99% of people check it at the wires. Just because you have it at the wire doesn't mean it is getting through the plugs though.

Check the compression of it.

Check to see if the injectors are opening. You could be getting fuel to the rail but if they don't open it won't matter how much fuel you are getting at the rail. You can check them by listening to them to see if they click.

Is this a 6 bolt that you put in?

User starter fluid to eliminate if it is a fuel related issue.

Its 7bolt engine with a 1g head on it.

I did try starter fluid and that didn't do anything at all.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I think your supposed to swap the plug wires when using a 1g cas on a 2g.

ok I switch them around and nothing happened it still won't start. It sounds like it's about to turn over and start but it just won't

well you have spark and fuel,you missed something.....the firing order is off.
check everything and recheck,there is no reason it souldn't start if its wired up right.

i know I have rewired everything 3 times over, redid the timing 4 times, making sure everything is connected. Could I hook diagnostic tool to my car see if it will shoot out codes to let me know whats wrong with it, even though it is running????????

Check compression.

the compression is good I check that after I redid the timing. one thing when it's try and start the car the oil guage does go up it's all the way down but there is oil in there

stupid question but you do have all of the sensors plugged in right? And i mean all of them. Because i know i forgot to plug in my crank sensor and my maf before and had the same problem.

yeah everything is plugged.

How do the spark plugs look? Are they gaped correctly? Did you check to see if they are sparking(the spark plugs)?

what year ECU? And what year harness?

yeah they are sparking and they are gapped correctly but one thing. spark plugs in 1 and 4 cylinder are really black and spark plugs 2 and 3 has a little black stuff on it.

if they are really really black i would recommend replacing them. And also double check the wiring for the cas. And i know you have checked it several times but check the timing again. And if you would like post some pictures of the timing marks for the cams and crank. Let some other people see them and go from there.
