Couldn't find what I am looking for when I was searching. But I am looking to make my eclipse a autox/ road race car. I'm looking for about 300 to 400 hp but what I really want is a very strong torque curve so I can get out of the turn as fast as possible. The engine is staying a 2.0 for now and has forged bottem end. I will be getting a head from my buddy that he ran 10s with. The head can flow up too 9500 rpm. I wont be going that high though. What upgrades should I be looking at for better torque and curve? Any help would be great!! Thanks

If the head was built for drag racing, I'm not sure if it'd be a good idea to swap on your car since you're looking to autox/road race. If it's been ported, I would guess that wouldn't help you. You'd probably benefit a bit from a 2g head because of it being a bit more focused on the velocity of the air and not the amount, but you can do some searching/reading to come to a decision.

If you're going with a 1g head, you could look into a Cyclone intake manifold to help out a bit with the low end.

And then probably the easiest way to get low end torque is to go with a 2.4l build.

If your utilizing a TD05H turbine section style turbo, I'd slap in a 6cm^2 housing if it was auto-x, an upgraded sidemount I.C. and avoid the big FMIC's, and as mentioned a cyclone intake manifold. That would give useable torque well into the mid to high 2000 rpm band. Also, speed density will pick up the bottom end spool range by about 200 rpms.

Thanks LiQUiDx I did not know their was pages of this. And I'm not launching the vehicle. So I "hope" I wont be braken parts fast.
The head has bronze valve guides, 3g lifters, cower springs and 1mm oversized valves. No cams though. I was thinking of running the combo. 264 272.
Thats funny snowborder714. He has a 2.3 strocker he wants to get rid of. I dont want too run a stroker yet. Not yet anyway.

If I could get numbers like Matthewdesigns. 327.7 whp, 361.3 lb-ft/torque
The most I would be looking for would be Skywalker18, 385.0 whp, 455.0 lb-ft/torque
Soild power numbers. Both usesing e316g and e85. The fuel I want to run, and I guess I'll be running a e316g
