2G engine swaps?

An evo 3 motor won't work to just drop in if that is what you are asking. The evo 8 motor is what you are talking about. Even then you will need a motor, a bellhousing from the evo, aftermarket motor mounts, and an ecu ( standalone or gst with a piggyback), along with axles and wiring problems. No swap is a drop in and go affair. I hope that helps! If you are looking for a turbo i would suggest either rebuild yours to handle boost or sell it and try to get a gst or gsx

I bought my 95 AWD bone stock with 120k for $1500 and a 95 awd auto for $800. There are deals out there you just need to find them.

Like everyone said the 4g63 and 4g64 engine swaps are popular and possible, just alot of work. Why do you want to swap motors? The 420A motors have been known to throw down some serious power when built right. Obviously they cost ore to mod, but at the end of the day, if your N/T can outrun a GST/GSX who cares how it started it's life out as.

Well depends on how much you are wanting to put into it I guess... My oldest brother had a 99 gs he turbo'ed. It would fly but it would also break down a lot! He had about 10 grand in the motor/setup and it wasn't all that reliable but he was also boosting about 25 pounds on a hahn super 16g which is about the same as an evo3 16g. I am sure people will argue but I would go for a gsx that already has a motor built to handle boost. I know the engineers didn't envision what is done to these cars but that is my .02

If it were me, I would build the motor to withstand 400whp, then build a custom turbo kit, not by one off the shelf. Then I'd enjoy the hell outta it. However be prepared to spend some cash, on parts/labor. However to do a motor swap and build to 400whp would cost approx. $2k more. My 98 RS-t HIT 409whp and 382wtq on a "streetable" build and a custom turbo setup, and my car was slow compared to some out there.

or...

Use the N/T for the DD, and buy a GST/GSX shell and build that. It's fun to take our time, get the parts you really want, not the parts you can afford this week, and have fun with that. If it breaks, no big deal, you still ave your N/T.

i honestly think it would be cheaper to keep my n/t and just save up for a gsx. gsx' kick ass but arent they a little more pricey then gst's?

agreed keep the n/t and just rebuild it to stock or at least keep the mod list down to a minimum. I am building a 1.8 talon, a 2.0n/t eclipse, and saving up for a awd tsi talon which will be the one that is heavily modded but of course id like to have my yard at home and my shop filled with dsm's. and i still live with my parents, they just shake their heads now when they come home to another car on jack stands LOL. Im even on the look out for another wrecked 2.0 n/t for a motor for my eclipse. But if i dont find one soon im just gonna have to start ordering parts.:notgood:
