i know this is probably all over the site about what you need, but i just need someone to tell me what exactly i need for my situation.. heres the thing.. i have a 95 talon tsi awd and i found a 91 tsi awd longblock that has the manifold, and fuel rail taken off.. will the 91 be able to drop directly in? and will i still be able to use my original 95 manifold and fuel rail? but most important should i keep my 2g tranny and will anything else need to be done to get it running? like ecu.. cas.. any insight would be much appreciated.. im new to cross generation swaps and dont know exactly how much the engines are alike.. thanks again..

a 6bolt motor will go into a 2g but their are modifications you have to do for it to fit and work correctly. I think their is a write-up about it in the Tech section of this site. You definately won't be able to use your tranny.

He can use his 2g tranny.

Check the tech articles for a writeup on what is involved with the swap. Its really not all that hard.

You might want to swap only the bottom end in. The 2g head will make the swap easier, and you wont need to worry about any of the sensors, other than getting a 1g CAS.

Your 95 intake mani wont bolt up correctly to the 1g head.

Here's what Im using to do my swap:

i heard that the 1g head is better then the 2g but then id rather go the route of easier but will the 2g head fit directly on the 1g block?.. thanks for the info so far.. any others?

The 1g head is "better" than the 2g, but the 2g will flow enough air for 450hp. The reason a 1g head is better is the intake manifold and throttle body are larger, so its capable of flowing more air.

A 2g head wont bolt directly onto a 1g block... you'll need to get the holes for the head studs bored out to match the 1g studs, but thats the only modification you need to do to the head, other than a 1g CAS (and possibly altering the fireing order).

scroll down if you use method 2 you will have to mess with firing order
if you use method 1 you will not. i did method 2 which was much easier and had some one help me out with the firing order, didn't seem too difficult though.

ok thanks for clarifying.. but how would i go about messing with the firing order.. anyone have any additional imput on that?
