Ok im thinking about getting rid of my 7 bolt for a 6bolt. do they drop right in or do i need a different tranny and mounts or can i use the existing.... ALso if i do this swap, is it better to just swap the whole engine, or use the 7 bolt head?? so basically the only thing bolt would be the bottom end.

heheheh

Yes it can be done. You will need an entire 6-bolt wiring harness and ECU and will have to swap all that out as well though. You do not want to use a 7 bolt head on a 6 bolt block. Yes it will work but it would be pointless.

Is it broke, crankwalk? why the swap? The search functions really good on this site type "6 bolt swap" in the searc box, amazing information will apear before your eyes.

Yes a 6bolt will fit, certain things will have to be changed for it to work properly. you can swap the 7bolt head on to the 6bolt block will save you some of the hassle.

Actually, you won't need to swap 1g engine harness/ECU. You just need to splice the 2g crank angle sensor into your 1g cam angle sensor. And as for the head goes, the 1g flows A HELL OF A LOT MORE then the 2g. Something else you want to know is that nothing needs to be modified i.e. engine mounts, tranny mounts, harness', fuel lines, water lines, except the crank into the cam sensor.

Good luck :thumb:
