recently ive had a few instances where the engine would start stuttering a bit if gently put under load. like being on cruise control and going up a hill. that happened a couple times, so at first i thought tranny prob and i replaced the filter and fluid. nope still happened today.

except this time i noticed that if i coast for a while or have it idling at an intersection for about a minute it will stutter when i get on the gas. and once again only if i do so slightly. any more throttle and it will downshift or start running normal.

this is a 420a w/ auto tranny and 96k miles.

thanks

PS: everything else works fine. first instance happened last week

Test your coil pack and make sure it's still good, along with plugs and wires. If you haven't changed these in your last 60k it would be smart to do so. Your map sensor/fuel filter would be something to think about changing if you don't have success with the basic tune up.
