Over the weekend I installed a new catback exhaust. All new from header to tailpipe. Now this morning on the way into work the check engine popped on:banghead:I INSTallED THE PREVIOUS O2 SENSORS AND ONLY WIRE BRUSHED THEM AND WIPED THEM DOWN WITH A CLEAN RAG. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Was the car welded on? If so, was the battery unhooked? I had a shop fry my o2 sensors on one of my cars by forgetting to unhook the battery.

Like others have said, its probably a catalyst failure code or bad o2 sensor. Just get it scanned, its free at most autoparts stores.

Just an update. Code was never there when i got out of work. Havent seen it pop up as of yet today.

Yeah I was going to grab stuff for an oil change and figured id get the code then but it never showed, I spent all day driving it...still no light.

If you havent unhooked the battery since the code was thrown you should still be able to read it. The light goes off if the issue is no longer present. I would still get the codes pulled just to know what code it was throwing.

Its a DSM, there is always a CEL =P. More than likely 02 related, dont let it bother you, or lose any sleep over. If it comes back of course get it checked, but beyond that, relax.
