Hi, greetings form Switzerland ;)

As you know, I live in Switzerland and I'm trying to
build a nice and fast GSX.

I've got some questions for you.

I think I'm going with a FP Green or something like that.
All I know is, that the engine block (7 bolt) is not strong enoff for 400 - 450 hp.
What would you recomend to change to make the engine stronger?
(6 bolt swap, new pistons, ....,...)

Does anyone know, is there a complete set or something? or do I have to
buy every part individually? If yes, I could not afford all the shipping charges?

Or do you think it would be easier to buy a new, stronger complete engine block
or a new engine?

Sorry, I'm a real newbie....

Thanks for your help

Not true that 7bolt block would be any weaker than the 6bolt.
Just change all the internals to stronger one(crank can be stock). Also i don't think stock transmission will hold up to 400-450hp ?

You've skipped straight from step A to step Z. You should start with the tuning guide (your profile says you're stock).

There's a good chance your stock 7 bolt won't hold 450hp long term, but it might last for a while. You might as well wait until you break it before you fix it. If you do hit 450hp and it breaks, get a built 6-bolt. If you never hit 450hp and give up first then you haven't wasted a ton of money.

a friend of mine has dynoed at 400 whp on his green with a stock 7 bolt [ other than hks 272's ]. running 22 psi daily and suffered a blown headgasket from overboosting. safe to say he now has arp headstuds and a cometic HG.

to be safe, i would do the above also, pistons/rods and BS removal.

oh, since shipping is insane to europe.. save up and buy all the parts at once. this way you get only one shipping cost. BUT i'd suggest going from stage 1 and going forward. start with basic mods like intake/exhaust/mbc etc. etc. first.

2g rods are thinner than 1g rods, so it is less forgiving to knock and high cylinder pressures.

Hi, do you have a link where I can get that jdm cyclone engine w/ turbo and tranny ?

Thanks

Mike

Mike, like some of the others have said I think you need to take a couple steps backwards before you think about engine internals and big turbos. According to your profile your stock, so you should start off with the basics first, unless you just havent listed your mods in your profile, in that case give us a list of what you have done. If you are a newbie like you stated there are a tonn of dsm info websites out there to help you out. If you look on this website under the tech guide you will find a recommended path to take to mod. your car, start with the basics. Some other good sites are:

www.vfaq.com
www.slowboyracing.com
www.roadraceengineering.com
www.dsmreviews.com

As far as building the motor, it is fairly strong in the stock form. Lots of guys have made over 400 crank hp on the stock block with a proper tune and the required supporting mods. As someone else stated you can buy a used JDM engine that would already include an upgraded turbo but you have to remember that these are used and you could end up with a lemon, you have no way of telling how these were taken care of by their previous owner, most people don't pull a perfectly running motor from their cars for no reason. This is not to say they are all bad as lots of guys have bought these and have no problems with them, just like everything else you need to do some reasearch on the seller as some are alot better then others. Personally when I need to upgrade my 7 bolt I will be purchasing a 6 bolt block and getting something built up with stronger internals, this way I know exactly what I have. I plane to be making 350+ hp on my stock 7 bolt for some time still, & think I should have no problem doing so.
