Engine rebuild for Act 2600 clutch

Ok, so I plan on getting a new clutch for my new turbo. I have been told that I have to rebuild my engine to take the new clutch. Is this true, why/why not? Also all I would have to do is drop the clutch in and go correct?

I don't really understand your question? Are you asking if you need to rebuild your engine in order to install a act 2600? If that is your question, then no. You can just install the 2600 pressure plate and what ever clutch you plan on running. If it need be, remember to get your flywheel stepped properly.

Yes, I am going to get the acto 2600 kit. So is this stepping is a must?

It depends on the condition of the flywheel. Some will say that you don't need to resurface/step but others say its a must. Its all up to the condition your flywheel is in though.

I believe the reason you were told to get a new clutch is because the car is already apart. Mind's well buy a new clutch, too! This way you're not doing the same thing twice, labor wise.

Generally, you will want to get the flywheel resurfaced, as it wore into the old clutch. That should eliminate a chattering due to a new clutch surface wearing against an old surface.

The stepping ensures that the clutch engages/disengages properly.
