i have a 92 eagle talon tsi wiht a stock clutch and im puting a ACT 2600 in whats a good flywheel to put in thats not very exspensive or can i keep the stock flywheel?

thanks obee

you can keep the stock flywheel but you have to get it resurfaced. if its cracked (by chance) i highly reccomend getting a different stock flywheel or a lightened flywheel. I have a fidanza flywheel and it revs alot faster compared to stock since its aluminum.

1. If you're replacing your clutch, that means your transmission is out of the car.
2. It also means that flywheel is widely open for access and can be removed in just a few minutes (or less) with an air gun, saving money down the road... unless you're doing it yourself, but dropping the transmission AGAIN is still pain in the ass.
3. Obviously, the car is being upgraded for performance.
4. So why not replace your flywheel with a brand new performance item?

I use ACT XAct StreetLite flywheel with #2600 clutch kit and I love it. It's Chrome-moly steel, makes the car a bit livlier, more responsive from lower RPMs and unlike Fidanza (9lbs), it's about 12lbs. Stock is 19lbs, if I remember correctly.

Don't lighten your stock flywheel--that's asking for trouble. Trouble is not worth your time or money.

Since everyone else is happy about adding their comments, might as well throw in an LSD too, if its FWD

I should add, vendors make ACT kits, with Flywheel and clutch kit included. I bought my complete kit with flywheel from prostreet at a great price. Comes out cheaper than buying the clutch kit and flywheel separately. The ACT flywheel will come properly stepped for ACT clutch kit--no machining will be necessary. I suggest using a Mitsubishi throwout bearing instead of what's included. My bearing is making nasty noise after few thousand miles--quality's just not the same.

TJGoSurf, he has an AWD (post search).
