Hey,
Quick question. When I go to WOT my engine pops threw about 4-5500 rpm. If im 90% throttle it wont do it only at WOT. I am running 11.8 AFR. I tried running 10.5 to 12.5 and it still does it. After about 5500 rpm it seems to clear itself out. I am getting a new downpipe and have the stock one on for now. I have no clue what it could be. Checked the plugs and the wires and everything is cool. Help.
Thank you

Check to see if the connections to the power transistor are all the way in. Sometimes the little plastic thing keeping it all the way in gets broken.

Hmmm, I had a starion that was shooting 2 foot flames and popping like this, it ended up being timing, re-timed it and I was set!

New update!!!! Threw a rod last night. Huge hole in the block right by the dipstick. Talk about a sweet ride at 65-70mph with oil everywere and front end locks up. On top of that these tow truck drivers in cleveland have a new law that if they think the car will be damaged while going on the tow truck they have the right not to tow it. so after 5 tow trucks at like 3 in the morning I finally got one to do it. All he did was make fun of me because hes a V8 guy and I almost punched him in the face calling it a ricer and he would smoke the crap out of it with his 200hp mustang fastback!!! woooow!!. geez Im getting maybe a bushur racing shortblock or something. Man I have no money. Help!!! Any donations will be accepted! LOL

sry to here that but i get that alot here. still in school and all the kids with there trucks thinks my car is slow just cause its a 4 cylinder

I guess you realised that you had a screwed up A/F ratio. Sorry that this happened to you, but think on the bright side! Now you get the chance to have a fresh motor in your car. :thumb:

My a/f was good. It started to go lean on the gauge all of a sudden, and when I was getting off of it it stayed lean and detonated. Its all good. The car is for sale. My buddy can put a new bottom end 6 bolt in it for like 1800bucks. But I am dead broke.
