sounds like it's the lifters but I'm not 100% sure, could it have started due to not having big enough injectors (how could I tell how big they are), needing a new air filter (could I just wash it, or do I need a new one?), new fuel filter, to high of boost (it's not a T25)...just trying to narrow things down.

I really need to update my profile for upgrades to!

Pretty sure I also have a boost leak cause when it picks up it jumps to around 18 then drops quickly to 15, more of a ticking. I'm not really sure what caused it to start, I didn't change anything when it started

Edit: I will try to get a video up (will be with my phone = horrible quality)
Edit2: updated my profile to my knowledge with what's on it, still need to get ahold of the previous owner >.< there is some sort of fuel pressure gauge under the hood near the firewall but I have no idea what it actually is.

Its most likely an afpr if it has 2 lines going to it plus a vac line on top. One goes from the output of the fuel rail to the afpr, the other connects to the fuel return line against the firewall. You want it set to around 42psi or 43psi with the VAC LINE OFF. very important

Is the vac line off and its reading 38? With the vac line OFF, while idling, adjust it to 43psi. There should be an alan head bolt on top(thats the way my cxracing one is anyway). Adjust that to get fuel pressure where you want it. Its really simple. Now when you plug the vac line back up the pressure will drop, this is normal.
Thats "setting base fuel pressure".

Alright thanks, will do that today.

I should have a new air filter in a few days, hoping that will help a bit

It was 48 with the vac line off but I put it at 43 and I'm gonna see how that runs

if it was 48 base fuel pressure then your going to be a tad rich, nothing unsafe at all, just a bit off. Adjusting to 43 will level help.
As far as all this pertaining to knock, its probably irrelevant, i was just trying to help where i could. Best of luck bud

Thanks for the help, each step out of the way is something I don't have to worry about later!
