ok - I recently installed a 14b into my 95 TSi..

At first the car was running funky, no real power so i used some of that Castrol Fuel Injector cleaner or whatever its called.

That seemed to work , my car was spooling right and felt like it had balls again more or less.

Then after about a week the car got groggy again and I could hear and watch the turbo spool all the way on the gauge but for some reason it felt like the engine was bogged out or wasnt running right.

I figured it was a boost leak at first so i checked all the hoses and those were good. Then i figured it was either the injectors again or else it was the spark plugs.

So anyways, I was going to pick of new spark plugs the next day but it didnt last that long, on the way home from gettin a movie the car went ghetto.

At first i was going down the road, and all the sudden i heard this weird noise that sounded like it was comming from the front left of the engine bay, i couldnt tell because hte radio was on so i shut it off to listen and not like, 20 seconds later the car stalled out and died,I threw it into neutral and started it up again and it sounded normal but then stalled out again so i drifted to the side of the road and turned it over once more. This time there was a knock on the engine. It sounded pretty hardcore, so i shut it off right away and popped the hood.

when i looked into the bay i couldnt find any broken shit on the outside, and the T-Belt SEEMED to be on normal and nothing wrong with it althought i dont know for sure.

Anyone have any idea of what could have caused all this and what might be wrong???

I want to have some kinda idea before i take it anywhere to get fixed you know, so i dont get OVERLY raped by the mechanic.

Thnx Guys.

What kind of plugs are you using in your car? I had a similar issue one time using cheap plugs which caused the end of the plug to burn off which got caught in an exhaust valve which chipped the valve which gave me a huge boost leak and caused the engine to idle really rough/die. Sorta similar to you, it happened after I put in fuel cleaner. Bad juju.

The same brand as what comes stock i think....

OMG i will be SOOO furious if thats what killed my engine >_< im gonna go home and check out the plugs in a couple hours.

OMG i will just TWEAK!!!

OK - Heres whats up...

I talked to one of the engineers at local chrysler shop who said he was really familiar with talons (he sounded like it anyways, cuz he knew they were god awful messes of breakdowns LOL)

Anyways...

He said it may just be a Head Gasket that blew...

Im gonna TRY to take apart the block myself and replace all the rings/gaskets/pistons.

Im prolly gonna ruin the engine but oh well.

I also wanna replace all the Turbo/Mani Turbo/Intake gaskets aswell, i have a feeling they may also had been bad and why the car was running like shit..

Any further input always helpful

why r u replacing the rods and pistons and stuff???? Just replace the headgasket yourself or the guy you talked to, if it still acts like shit, THEN take it in and have a mechanic check it out for you.
