engine has a 'miss'

I want to buy this 93 Talon TSi AWD with 70k miles on it, but the only problem is that the owner says it has a "miss" when running. Since this is an internet deal I can't just go run down and check it out for myself. Any ideas on what it could be? I apologize for the vague description but thats all I have to work with.

a miss fire? meaning that not all cylindars are firing on every revoultion

Man you are really fishing on this one. Hell could be as simple as needing plugs and wires. You won't REALLY know until you look at it yourself.

I think it might be the muffler bearings..........or mabey the blinker fluid! / Just kidding

There is no way to diagnose a vehicle with such a vague discription. I was this close to trying before I thought about it..... It could be one of a billion things.

Yea, the first thing that came to my mind was "missfire" but you guys are right; too vage, and impossible to tell without first hand experience. I was actually posting this for a friend and he decided to buy the car anyway. $2000 for a '93 tsi awd with 70k miles and bone stock. We figure its worth the risk despite the mysterious "miss" issue ( famous last words). Thanks guys, sorry for wasting your time.

UPDATE: Car had a burnt valve. Had some headwork done and it runs like a champ.

Thats the same thing that happend to my truck. I was about to ask if the valves were good
but i kept reading and you said it was spent.
