2G Engine miss and then died!!

Ok here is something that I need help with. Here is how it goes.

My 96 TSI awd had been driving just fine. Built motor. 750cc injectors PMS, TMO stage II ecu. MSD DIS-II

Then one night in the way home from work I started up the engine and started to drive and the car just had no power and there was alot of vibration that was not there before. The motor sounded like it had a small miss to it.

Ok so I have been trying to get rid of this miss. Thinking it was tuning I tried to lean it out and then after that did not work richen it up. Those did not seem to help.

Also before I get to far. The car since that night will ALWAYS mis until the motor is warmed up and then if I shut off the engine and restart it seems to go away. Some times even after that it will still come back most of the time it would come back after I run up the boost and shift or else when I am deccelerating and then get back on the gas.

To try and fix this problem I have so far... Changed heat ranges of the plugs to BPR7es instead of the BR8es. I have changed the sparkplug wires from some cheapo ones to MSD. I have swapped the coil packs, power transister pack, replaced the injectors with 450cc, tried to raise the fuel pressure and lower the fuel pressure. pull out the pms. Did a compression check (200-190-190-200 psi) (Cold)

Now here is the next thing. I was driving to work yesterday and I was coming into town at litle cruise and the car started to buck and jerk and to backfire BAD. It had never done that before. Now the car will not even start it is like it does not have any fire. I have not yet check to see if the plugs are getting fired yet at this point.

I need some idea on were else to check.

I think I got the problem licked.

I replaced the MAF. nothing
ECU nothing

Swapped in a 1G CAS ... the car starts right up


I believe that the crank angle sensor went bad on me.

Hope this helps other people with a simular problem
