2G Engine harness tuck question!!

Hello I’m still fairly new. Have a 98 Eclipse GST. I’m pulling motor and trans soon because I am having my other block sent out and made into a 2.3 stroker with a hx40 setup.

Anywho! My stock engine bay harness is beat like Chris Brown did it. Completely hacked. So I purchased an amazing condition one to swap in and figured I’d cut it open extend some wires ect ect just to wire tuck it!!. The point I’m getting at is though, which wires can I absolutely delete outa here with 0 issues?

I have ECMLink v3 not a six bolt swap. I have ABS, cruise control, AC, idle air, EGR, charcoal canisters, no fog lights, BCS is gone with manual BCS, FPS is not in use because of aftermarket, and my wideband is in the front O2, can’t do rear I tech have 3 bungs in my exhaust and the one for rear is welded then one further down than that.

But back to my question. What can I delete? *wire wise , or pin*

Doesn’t seem like you can delete much as you haven’t deleted much.

For example I have no maf, wipers, ABS, CC, EGR, FPS, AC and really no emissions related items. I haven’t removed them from the harness I just relocated them to the interior of the car out of sight in case I ever need them.

Cutting your harness up and hacking it to extend things isn’t something I recommend.

Also if you would remove your BCS plug and then realize you want to utilize it later for EBC through ecmlink you will be cursing yourself. For example I’ve kept my FPS plug easily accessible in case I want it to use it with something down the road with ecmlink.

I wouldn't recommend deleting anything from stock harness.
What I would recommend (from my own experience) is to get rid of whole stock loom (both plastic and tape) and putting a new one, preferably material one (the one that is on fancy motorsport wiring harnesses) on. It's a very time consuming task, and requires a lot of patience as you'll need to de-pin all connectors, put new loom on, and then put connectors back on pins. You need dedicated tools to do so, but imo it's worth it. It took me a lot of time, but whole engine bay is waaaay cleaner. Also harness is much less chonky compared to stock plastic loom, and let you tuck some things nicer than stock.
