engine degreaser harm timing belts?

i cleaned my engine up a bit with engine degreaser and got it on the timing belt. will it harm the belt? im thinking of changing it anyways along with the balance shaft belt. do i need to change the automatic tensioner too? or can i use the 1 on it. it was all changed b4 i got the car (92 talon tsi turbo) the engine is out of it so i thought id clean it up and change the belts.

Change the belt!

Engine degreasers have organic chemicals in them that dissolve oils and greases. Timing belts are made primarily of rubber - which is usually made with petroleum products (oil).
