Today I checked my check engine light and I got a code that was P0125, can anybody give me alittle more insight into this code. It started to happen to me when I installed a front mount, big16g, 550's, and a 190lph. How would I go about to fix this problem? thanks

The code is (Time to enter Closed Loop Operation (Fuel Control) is excessive (coolant tempera) this is from vfaq.com

clear the code, drive the car, if it comes back on then google it, if it stays off then ur in good shape

I cleared and it came back. I also looked it on google and just kept getting what the code was but not a good understanding of it. I know that it is (closed loop temperature not reached) and ( excessive time to enter closed loop fuel control). I need to know exactly what they mean, and how to fix the problem.

I read in one to change the thermostat, but is there more.

ok so closed loop is a point when your computer takes over air fuel control actively, by this i mean in looks at o2 voltage and corrects the curve to stay right at 14.7 or a lean to rich to lean that averages out at 14.7, instead of using preset fuel maps. to get to closed loop you need the car to reach a preset ect temp (this is mostlikely where your problem is), a set amount of time must past, I think it is 20 sec for your car, your o2 sensor must reach around 600 deg and the computer must see voltage from it, and you must be cruising. i hope this helps, if you have any more questions just ask :dsm:

First guess is a thermostat stuck partially open.

Good idea.

It could also be a bad coolant temp sensor. Mine died and kept telling the ECU that the coolant was -40 degrees. I got the same CEL you did. Also, just remember that there are 2 coolant temp sensors, one for the gauge and one for the ECU. So your gauge can look good, but a logger may show otherwise.

thank you, i'll look into those things this week, I will probably change my thermostat first since it never has been changed and work my way to the sensors. I'll let you know how everything went, thanks again.

Alright I changed the thermostat and the light stayed on, I will change the sensor tomorrow. Where are the sensors located?
I see that one is connected to the housing of the thermostat but I cant find the other one. The manual that I have shows a different engine and not mine. its a chilton.

Thanks for clarifying that up. I will let you know what happens.

Alright I changed the sensor and got the code erased at autozone on the way home the check engine light stayed off. If it comes back on with the same code what would be the next option?

Ever get this figured out / taken care of? Research I've done says it might be something wrong with the front O2 sensor or harness. . .

Let us know what you find out!

Well the light did come back. My next move in the spring will be to change the fuel curves. Te car is running rich because it will not pick up also I had a problem with my boost controller so the engine couldnt lean out like it was supposed to. I did read that it might a a bad o2 sensor. I do have to change it out. let me know if you guys have anymore suggestions. thanks for your help.
