I'm going to start cleaning up my engine bay including rust and faded parts. I was contemplating on what color scheme I should come up for the engine bay. The car is silver so I was thinking something simple like black and polished metal. I'm open to suggestions and wondering what other ppl ended up doing.

P.S. anyone know the name and color code for the mitsubishi silver

My last spyder was also Minden Silver (got a soft spot for silver DSMs). I had always planned on just a satin black for everything under the hood, and then a few items color matched to the body such as the valve cover, intake manifold, intercooler pipes, intake pipe, and turbo cold side. Everything else was getting changed to black. Sadly the color scheme would probably look better with another color other than silver since a lot of engine parts are already silver in bare metal form.

Are you talking about painting the engine bay? thats the part that I dont like, it looks unfinished to me when body colors dont match, thats what I meant.

Usually having the same color for your engine bay as your exterior color fits the best. My personal dsm (1997 Eclipse GS-T) is painted a pearl blue from a 2001 dodge durango, but the previous owner before me painted the engine bay a lighter blue with some glitter (don't ask) and I hated it to begin with, but it has slowly been growing on me. One thing I must say, in comparison with having a black engine bay, it is way easier to find bolt holes and not lose bolts or wrenches...

I like the idea but I could see it looking better on another color. I didn't really care for the silver at first and even thought about changing the color but it has definitely grown on me.
