Hey guys have the motor out of my daily for an over haul have the engine bay pressure washed decent and plant to paint the block have all engine components like mounts hard lines timming cover valve cover everything and now I'm wondering about painting the intake the same color to go with everything and because I don't want to glass bead the intake so I though just paint it like valve cover also wondering about fuel rail. And on the other side of this I'm installing a fuel regulator and at a loss where to mount it on the fore wall? Theirs little to no room for it and where their is it sticks to high to shut the hood.. I have the Standart lent -AN hose that you would get from say extreampsi off the fuel rail where have you guys located it in your car? Have you removed anything for it or re arranged it?? Both these things I'm very undecided on what to do and just looking for opinions and pictures for ideas anything helps guys thanks in advance

I'm assuming you have a 1G from your profile picture, you didn't say anywhere. Here is a picture of my 1G engine bay, please excuse the quality, but you get the idea. My fuel pressure regulator is mounted on the firewall next to the clutch master cylinder reservoir. My car is probably a bad example because I've deleted a bunch of stuff and moved stuff around so it doesn't really apply to a daily driver like yours. My advice would be to look at as many 1G engine bay pictures as you can, and you I'm sure you'll start to get an idea of where to put yours.

For starters, check out this thread:

Good luck

Are you talking about the intake manifold? If so you should go with a ceramic coat for paint. Holds up to the heat and looks great...a little pricey though. Most places have a range of options for colors as well. For your fuel pressure regulator, I've seen people rearrange they're brake fluid reservoir on the firewall and use brackets to bolt up to the existing holes. If it comes down to it you can always drill the holes where you need them

Or powder coat that intake and fuel rail, would look great like a compressor cover or vc.

Example of my engine bay and AFPR placement and 4 bar MAP sensor placement. Took my powder coated VC off while I was working on the install but it will be back on soon.

I went to a local place that sells metal and picked up a couple sheets of aluminum, and fabbed my own brackets on the firewall, reusing existing bolt holes for various things:

+1 on the (off the fuel rail, location) I've been running mine that way for 2 years now. no leaks, no issues.
I applied a dab of blue thread lock to the threads for peace of mind.

Tha ks for all the replies guys I have a few issues with some suggestions though I wasn't planning on power coating it just because the price the money going into this car is soposto be for my tsi drag build this is only being done because I had an issue with the head and now it all while I'm here might as well kinda stuff also I'm trying to utilize the 2ft long an line I got woth the regulator so closer to the fuel rail the better and I do like that idea of mounting roght on the rail but how can you see your guage it looks hard to read? But I appriciate all the replies none the less I was going to use the rustolume painting had used for the valve cover and all the other misc parts in the engine bay like mounts and timming cover just to make it look niceer then it was so far it looks great was up in the air about the intake it looks clean but still dirty and I don't want to bead blast it now coz it is clean so I'm thinking painting it would work but I'm thinking high heat paint may be needed?
